Zentangle Diva challenge 233 Zenith

[Zentangle? Who? What? Find out here.]

This week, the Zentangle Diva, Laura Harms, is back from her summer hiatus. Her challenge was for us to use the Mother Ship’s new “official” tangle, Zenith. I like when the Diva’s challenge forces me to sit down and learn a new tangle. It’s kind of like homework (in a good way) and I was a goody two shoes and always did my homework. So, Monday mornings are set aside for whatever the Diva challenges us with.

Here’s what I came up with. It’s basically Zenith with a whole lot of perfs. Zenith is very likely to become a “go to” border tangle and it also reminds me of lacy ribbons, especially when I got a little micro.

I realize it’s time for me to hunker down and spend some time actually learning how to shade and shadow in a way that comports with the laws of physics.

When I’m not tangling, I’m devoting time to my blog. This week, two of my posts were picked up by the Huffington Post. I actually think I’ve shared them here before, but if you want to help me show the Huffington Post that they didn’t make a mistake, you can find them here and here. Comments and shares are welcome. (Some of you have already been there. Thank you!)

And finally, here’s this week’s gratuitous “after the sunset” in Brigantine, New Jersey photo.

I love the movement in your tile. Fantastic use of Zenith! I hear you on the homework. I do laundry on Monday so I use the time between switching loads to work on the weekly challenge. It certainly makes laundry more enjoyable! See you next week!

I love the way that the whole piece seems to float…great shading. Obviously, your homework has paid off…and congrats on having your first tangle up on Tanglepatterns.com…and two pieces in the Huffington Post. Wow! And it’s only Monday…:-)

I didn’t know about the tangle being published. Thanks for the heads up.

I like the very bold Zenith that splits the center of your tile, and your shading really adds dimension to your piece!

This is a wonderful tile that looks like you could pick the tangles up off of the page.
